Research

Between 1999 and 2003, I undertook research, funded by National Grid plc., into the potential for bioremediation of linear alkylbenzene cable oils. In September 2000 I submitted a thesis entitled Monitoring and control of in situ bioremediation of soil contaminated with cable oil as part of my degree of Master of Science in Environmental Diagnostics at Cranfield University. I submitted my PhD thesis at Edinburgh University, on 30th September 2003 and successfully defended it on 17th December 2003.

From 2005-2017 I worked in the field of improved oil recovery at the Tertiary Oil Recovery Program at the University of Kansas.
